YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas
Nurse-Family Partnership Program

PURPOSE
To help improve women’s lives and remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
FOCUS
Today’s YWCA focuses primarily on helping women move from poverty to self-sufficiency. The YWCA’s average client is a single mother of two children with an annual income of only $26,000. Many live just above the poverty threshold, making them ineligible for public benefits but still in need of assistance to achieve self-sufficiency.
NURSE-FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is a program for women who are having their first baby. A nurse visits the first time mother in her home throughout her pregnancy and until her baby is 2 years old. The nurse will tailor services to the mother's individualized needs. The mother is the primary focus of each NFP nurse because she holds the responsibility of being the child's caregiver. The program also encourages fathers, family members and even friends to be involved in the visits and learn how they can best support the mother.

ASC'S SPONSORS
Dozens of local sponsors host tables at the luncheon, make monetary contributions, provide products and services for the ASC Luncheon, and provide a variety of in-kind contributions. Please visit our sponsor page to see our generous sponsors for 2008 - 2009. If you or your corporation would like to contribute to the ASC's fund-raising efforts for its beneficiary, download a Sponsorship form and contact a member of the ASC Underwriting Committees.
ASC'S BENEFICIARIES
Each year ASC selects a non-profit agency benefiting women, children and/or families in the Dallas Metroplex area as its beneficiary. One hundred percent of all contributions are given directly to the beneficiary, including all ASC membership fees, sales of luncheon tickets, and sales of centerpieces that feature contributions from local sponsors.
