About ASC and Its Mission
Minimize

ASC was born in 1987 when a handful of Dallas women attorneys pooled their talents and interests, joining together in the spirit of community service.  Now ASC is a dynamic volunteer orgnization of almost 300 women lawyers and law students from the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

ASC's mission is to bring together women lawyers to combine their resources and talents to support local non-profit organizations whose programs benefit women, children, and families.  ASC also is committed to providing its members with personal growth and leadership opportunities, connections in the legal community, and friendship, as it carries out its primary mission of serving our community.

Each year, ASC members work through various committees to produce events, including the annual ASC Luncheon, that benefit a non-profit organization in the Dallas area.  The selected non-profit not only receives the luncheon revenues, but also enjoys increased public awareness of its services.

ASC has been fortunate to have nationally-known guest speakers at each luncheon, including such notables as psychologist and columnist Dr. Joyce Brothers; opera legend Beverly Sills; author Molly Ivins; Former Governor of Texas Ann Richards; Former First Lady Barbara Bush; actress Sandy Duncan; Former First Lady, Senator and now Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; athlete Wilma Rudolph; model Marla Hanson; author Prudence McIntosh; Congresswoman Patricia S. Schroeder; author and columnist Marilyn Schwartz; ABC correspondent Michel McQueen; community leader Alma Powell; environmental activist Erin Brockovich; author Carol Higgins Clark; actors Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker; athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee; lawyer, television personality and author Star Jones Reynolds; lawyer, radio personality, and author Gloria Allred; "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts; author and motivational speaker Lisa Nichols; and author and screenwriter Antwone Fisher.

ASC is proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary.  More than $2.6 million has been raised by ASC for Dallas-area charities.  ASC's success is a tribute to the strong commitment of many area lawyers, law firms, businesses and individuals to the benefciaries ASC has served.

Membership in ASC is open to women lawyers.  For its 25th anniversary, there are five levels of annual membership:

25th Anniversary Member - $250

Sustaining Member - $150

General Member - $75

Judicial Member - $50

Law Student Member - $35

All dues are paid directly to the beneficiary each year.
